SPS finishes operations in Urdaneta field increasing crude oil production in about 675 %

Southern Procurement Services started labors in western Venezuela with a register of 2 thousand crude oil barrels per day and in less than a year operating it increased production up to 13.5 thousand BPD

(08-11-2018, SPS press).- Southern Procurement Services (SPS) announced the abeyance of its operations in Urdaneta field, after receiving an official statement from Venezuelan’s Petroleum (PDVSA), in which it was notified the “Contract of services for increasing hydrocarbons production in Urdaneta field” early cease, based on 14.1.2 clause, with work initiation act on May 5th, 2017.

Facing this, Southern Procurement Services manifested its unbreakable compromise with its work team, reaffirm its faith in Venezuela and ratifies its conviction of keep on developing with responsibility and efficiency all the projects in the county, in which it is currently working.

The cited contract was signed in early 2017 and its executions started on August same year, with the objective of providing integral solutions focused on increasing crude oil production in Urdaneta field, having a team of 180 people committed with crude oil production recovery.

Manuel Chinchilla, SPS’ CEO, explained that at the beginning of SPS operations, the field would generate about 2 thousand crude oil barrels per day and thanks to cutting-edge technology implementing and highly qualified personnel labor, production was increased up to 675 % hitting a record of about 13,5 thousand BPD in less than a year of operation.

Furthermore, “we also reduced operational times in oilwell services from 50 days to only seven, and robbery rates were considerably cut down”, SPS management explained.
